Mission Impossible

01/03/2010 thetruculenthound

Well, this was a close call.  I only stsrted to cut this quilt last Tuesday, completed the cutting on Thursday, piececed the entire top on Friday afternoon and fleece backed and quilted it on Sunday. Today was binding day and I duly managed to make, apply and finish the task this afternoon.

Why the rush?  My mother is going into hospital in Belgium  at the end of this moth to have her exceedingly painful hip joint replaced.  I am unable to travel for health reasons so I opted to make this as a hug for her while she is away.  She’s also going to be in hospital on her birthday so it is sort of a birthday present too.

You may think this is a little masculine for a 60 something but as she is very involved in sailing  on the technical side and is a frustrated naval architecht, I think it is perfect.  We’ll see tomorrow if she likes it.
